Flowers and Art in Milwaukee: Art in Bloom

This weekend I was invited to go the the Milwaukee Art Museum to attend the Flowers in Bloom exhibit.  I went with a friend and her family and had a wonderful time.  What a great place to people watch!  The museum was crowded with art and flower lovers and the floral interpretations of the works of fine art were inspired.

Here are a few:
The use of color, shape, and texture in the floral arrangements was ingenious.  In this piece the angular petals and strong vertical stem lines truly mirror the painting.

Even the containers were used to pick up color accents and various planes in the art work.

The use of objects in the arrangements was both startling and pleasing.

What a great way to spend a lovely Sunday afternoon on a spring day.

Day 44

Alright PEEPS!  It's time to demonstrate the POWER OF POSITIVE THOUGHT!  Everyone, all together now....THINK SPRING!!!    THINK SPRING!!!    THINK SPRING!!!  It has been snowing all day here, ughhhh!  See this picture, that's what's in my heart.  That's what's in my mind.  That's what my body and mind are CRAVING!!!  After I finish these posts I'm going to the grocery store to get a bunch of fresh flowers.  They will sit in the middle of my kitchen counter to REMIND ME that winter can not last forever (at least that's what I keep telling myself)  Soooooooo, everyone, THINK SPRING!!!

Day 26

This photo was taken just north of Birmingham, Alabama, at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant/Store.  There is something about flower beds densely planted, profuse in color, that make me HAPPY!  I get happier, and happier, the further south I go.  It's the BEST to be driving this 18 hours and seeing the change in the landscape.
